JEWELS OF EAST - MANAS NATIONAL PARK

Duration : 10 nights / 11 days
Places Covered : Delhi - Guwahati - Manas - Kaziranga - Kolkata - Sunderbans - Kolkata - Delhi
Day 1: Delhi
Early morning arrive at New Delhi airport. Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon sightseeing tour of Old and New Delhi visiting India Gate, Red Fort, Raj Ghat, etc and driving past President’s House. Overnight at the hotel

Day 2: Delhi- Guwahati-Manas
Morning fly to Guwahati in the morning and transfer to Manas National Park.

Manas is one of the Natural World Heritage sites in eastern India and is also one of the first nine Project Tiger reserves in India. It is also famous for its wealth of rare and highly endangered flora and fauna. It hosts three different eco-systems, islands, grasslands and semi evergreen forest type. It also has the last refuge for the rare hispid hare and boasts three type of leopards.. the lower areas has the spotted leopard, the middle range has the rare Clouded Leopard and the higher altitude, the highly elusive Snow Leopard.

Overnight at the lodge.

Day 3: Manas
Morning and afternoon jungle excursion in Manas National Park. Overnight at the lodge.

Day 4: Manas / Kaziranga
Morning drive to Kaziranga National Park. The flood plains, grasslands and forests of Kaziranga harbour many species of rare and endangered animals including Soft ground Barasingha ( Eastern Swamp deer), Elephant, Water buffalo, and the largest concentration of Indian One Horned Rhino. Overnight at the lodge.

Day 5: Kaziranga
Morning Elephant ride (optional) followed by an excursion to the Western range of the park. Afternoon visit the Eastern range for birding. Dinner and overnight at the Resort.

Day 6: Kaziranga National Park
Morning Nature Trek around the Reserve Forest to look for the rare Hollock Gibbon or search for the hornbills before returning for breakfast. Afternoon visit the tribal villages or the tea gardens. Overnight at the resort.

Day 7: Kaziranga- Jorhat/Guwahati-Kolkatta
Drive to Jorhat or Guwahati to connect with flight to Kolkatta . Arrive Kolkatta in the evening. Overnight in the hotel.

Day 8: Kolkatta-Sunderbans National Park
Drive to Sunderbans by road (2½ hours drive) and by boat. On arrival transfer to the Camp. Evening cruise through narrow creeks and channels. Return to the camp in the evening. Dinner and overnight at the camp

Day 9: Sunderbans National Park
Full day cruise for wildlife viewing and birding. Return to the camp in the evening. Evening local cultural show performed by the villagers. Dinner and overnight at the camp

Day 10: Sunderbans-Kolkatta
After breakfast birding cruise. After an early lunch, transfer by boat to the jetty and then by car to Kolkatta. Evening board for Delhi.

Day 11: Delhi
The day at leisure. Late evening transfer to the International Airport for onward flight.
